Ryan vs "new" John

It was a game of wits dipping and dodging the hard hitters on both sides, as we laid and held down scheme markers and John attempted to distract his opponent. In the end Ryan came out on top.

Bob v Patrick Week 3

Pattrick was off to a good start when he lured in Hungering Darkness to two belles and Madame Sible. Ama No Zako followed him to give support. All the models were in range for turf war. Canine Remains and the Dead Rider were on the flanks. Harvey the Wandering River Monk shot of toward the Canine Remains who ran. Harvey was free for the rest of game to leap and drop scheme markers for Plant Evidence. Ama No Zako died (Bob’s Bodyguard target) in and Hungering darkness was down to 1 wound and flipped a black Joker on his terror check and did nothing for the round. It looks very bad for Bob at this point.

In round three Hungering Darkness started killing models and healed almost up to full health. Yin and Phill the Illiminated moved in to aid. The illuminated was nerfed for most of the game with slows. Between Yin and Phil’s ranged attacks and Huggy’s Tendrils. Patrick’s only model left on the board turn 5 was the Dead Rider who was engaged with Yin and Huggy with the Illuminated not far off.

Bob won initiative and Huggy used Heed My Voice to make the Dead Rider walk up to Yin and fail his Horror check paralyzing him for the turn. Phil spent the last couple turn’s removing enemy scheme markers. An in the end Bob won 7 (3 – Plant Evidence and 4 – Turf War) to Patrick’s 5 (3 – Plant Explosives and 2 – Turf War)

The brutal striking power of the Cerberus mauled the librarian at the end of turn 2. Greg then luckily drew a great set of cards and won initiative. The Cerberus then discarded imbued energies to gain fast and then proceeded to murder the Strongarm Suit. Hannah then moved out of the line of fire, choosing to strategically withdraw at the beginning of turn 4.

John earns 1 scrip.

Greg Earns 6 scrip and purchases the Pneumatic Legs skill for Miranda.

Greg Vs. Bob: Week 2

Greg’s Arsenal
Vs.
Bob’s Arsenal

Standard Deployment
Strategy: Squatter’s Rights
Schemes: A Line in the Sand; Protect Territory; Make Them Suffer; Assassinate; Vendetta

Beginning:
Bob lines up his crew slightly right of Center, Greg Lines his guys up to the far right. First round consists of Bob moving forward cautiously with his 3 hitters and his Monk using his ratskin like cheater to get to the center line, while Greg “streaked” his Molemen up the right side, and advances Cerberus 2 and Myranda to right Center. Cerberus 1 becomes fast and leaps and then wastes all his extra attacks (including a maul trigger) by killing the Monk in one hit.

Middle:
With Gnawing Fear, and other trickery, Bob locks down Cerberus, essentially castrating his offensive capabilities. The Molemen continue to run into Bob’s deployment zone leaving scheme markers. Myranda and Cerberus 1 lay in strategy markers. Finally Cerberus is killed and Ama No Zako flies over to engage Myranda. Myranda goes full retard and tries to hurt Ama No Zako instead of running like a smart person. Meanwhile, Yin and Hungering Darkness put strategy markers in place. With Recalled training and a Red Joker Flip, Myranda goes down like Tim’s Mom on a $3 date, thus awarding the assassinate scheme points to Bob.

End:
Molemen and Cerberus run into cover to avoid Bob’s hitters. Bob marks up more strategy Markers and removes enough of Greg’s Markers so that he gets no strategy points, as well as laying down scheme markers. Near the end of the 5th Round, Greg tries to reach a strategy marker, and steal a last minute point, but he is just out of range because he cannot end his turn on a tree. He then decides to attack yin, in hopes of crazy luck killing him, or winning initiative in the 6th and finishing him off and getting another marker down, but he failed to kill Yin or place a marker, and the game ended.

Aftermath:
Bob scores 3 points for Assassinate, 3 points for Protect Territory, and 2 points for Squatter’s rights for a total of 8 points.
Greg scores 3 points for Make them Suffer, 3 points for Protect Territory, and 2 points for Squatter’s rights for a total of 8 points.

Results: Greg and Bob tie the game, with Bob earning 4 scrip, and Greg earning 6 scrip. Both players bank their earnings.

Ryan’s Arsenal

Standard Deployment

Strategy and Schemes

  • Reckoning (Strategy)
  • Cursed Object
  • Breakthrough
  • Distract
  • Vendetta

This match was one of a chess match with the first 4 rounds spent positioning and avoiding conflict. The Molemen move into the Neverborn deployment zone and laid out many breakthrough markers, while a young Nephalim and Nakima lay out breakthrough markers of their own. On the final round, Nekima uses a soulstone to flip initiative and flies forward and just murders the innocent and sweet Miranda (despite 2 soulstone damage prevention). The SC then interacts with Nekima to curse her and then leaps away to one of 2 line in the sand markers left by the Neverborn and removes it. The game then ends with the Arcanists in victory with both teams getting full points for Breakthrough and the deciding point coming from a cursed object removal on the last turn.

Final score: Greg 4 pts. Ryan 3 points.

Greg Banks his 3 scrip, and Ryan uses his to recruit the Berserk upgrade.

Greg vs. Patrick: Week 1

Greg’s Arsenal
Vs.
Patrick’s Arsenal

In an epic conflict between the forces of life and nature vs. the powers of death and rebirth, Miranda and crew edged out Madame Sybelle.

Strategy and Schemes available

  • Turf War (strategy)
  • Line in the Sand
  • Breakthrough
  • Distract
  • Deliver a Message
  • forgotten, check with Patrick

Beginning:
Mostly positioning. Molemen leapfrogging up one side to the center line, the SC and Miranda hid themselves behind a wall. Madame Sybelle, and Bambi moved to the center of the map, with the Hanged moving slightly off center.

Middle:
Bambi lured an innocent and precious Moleman toward the center of the map. The Moleman ran back to cover after this. The other Moleman moves forward, where the Hanged attacks him for minimal effect. SC leaps forward and tears Bambi to shreds. Madame Sybelle is understandably upset and beats the SC ruthlessly. Miranda moves forward to the center and heals the SC. Before more carnage can ensue, the SC delivers a message to Madame Sybelle and then she beats him more, must have been bad news? Miranda heals him and transforms herself into a Blessed of December and leaps into action with Madame Sybelle.. The Hanged comes in to assist his besieged leader. Meanwhile the Moleman continue forward to breakthrough.

End:
The SC is dispatched and Sybelle thinks about delivering a message, but then realizes that she does not have it with her. Lots of positioning where the Molemen and the BoD run away from their enemies but to no avail, and the BoD succumbs to the attacks of Madame Sybelle. The kill, while morally satisfying is not enough to turn the tide, and the game ends with Miranda and crew the victors.

Final Score: Greg 8, Patrick 3

Greg Banks his 5 scrip and Patrick Banks his 2 scrip. No opponent is finished off.
